CAIRO, Ill. -- Louise McGinness Hornberger, 88, of Cairo passed away at 4:53 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2018, at Integrity Healthcare of Anna, Illinois.
Louise was born Oct. 13, 1929, in Mount Pleasant, Illinois, to the late John and Flossie Marie Brim McGinness.
She was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church in Cairo. She was a former employee of Snowers Co. in Cairo and was a secretary for her husband's business, George Roy's Heating & Cooling in Cairo. She was also a homemaker and housewife.
Survivors include her sister, Mary Satterfield, and brother, Donald (Mary Ann) McGinness, both of Cairo; grandchildren, Camille (John) Adams of Villa Ridge, Illinois, and Weldon Berry; several stepgrandchildren; two great-grandchildren, Mallory Adams and Meghan Malone; several great-stepgrandchildren; two nephews, Charles McGinness and Mark McGinness; and a niece, Kim Bohde.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Roy Hornberger Jr. in October 2003; daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and Charles Berry; infant sister, Lois Elaine McGinness; brother, Frank McGinness; stepgrandson, Eric Schnaare; sister, Dora McGinness on June 24; and brother-in-law, Robert "Bob" Satterfield.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at Jones Funeral Home in Villa Ridge.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Dr. Larry L. Potts officiating. Interment will follow in Green Lawn Memorial Gardens in Villa Ridge.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of memorials to the donor's choice in memory of Louise McGinness Hornberger.
