Louise "Clara" Glastetter, 88, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, Sept. 20, 2004, at Saint Francis Medical Center.
She was born Aug. 21, 1916, in New Hamburg, Mo., daughter of Joseph William and Rose Margaret Wiedefeld Backfisch. She and Michael Anton Litzler were married Nov. 22, 1938, at New Hamburg. He died March 23, 1942. She and Leon Glastetter were married May 17, 1947, at Benton, Mo. He died March 17, 1971.
Glastetter was a cook at several restaurants and old Saint Francis Hospital in Cape Girardeau, and at Rainbow Drive-In in Scott City. She was a member of St. Denis Catholic Church in Benton.
Survivors include four sons, Ronald Litzler of East Alton, Ill., James Glastetter of New Hamburg, Ray Glastetter of Jackson, Dennis Glastetter of Loveland, Colo.; two daughters, Janet Carroll of Kelso, Mo., Betty Rabbitt of Waynesville, Mo.; three sisters, Johanna Schwartz of Cape Girardeau, Bertha Glastetter of Kelso, Ann Brockmeyer of Lemay, Mo.; 16 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, four brothers and a sister.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Funeral Home in Benton from 4 to 8 p.m. Sept. 28. Parish prayers will be at 6:30.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Sept. 29 at St. Denis Catholic Church. The Revs. Normand Varone and David Coon will officiate. Burial will be in Dexter City Cemetery at Dexter, Mo.
