Louise A. Cummings, 92, of Jackson died Thursday, June 15, 2006, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
She was born Oct. 19, 1913, in McClure, Ill., daughter of Jesse B. and Nancy Malone Burris. She married the Rev. Glenn F. Cummings Jan. 24, 1931, at Jackson.
Louise attended Central High School. She was baptized in Juden Creek, and joined Red Star Baptist Church when she was 16 years old. She was a homemaker over 72 years and served in church with her husband. She taught Sunday school and worked with the missionary society.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Marcia Kaye and Harold Stone of Jackson; two grandsons and their wives, Scott and Alison Uelsmann of St. Louis, Keith and Ruthie Uelsmann of Jackson; three great-grandsons, Cole Andrew Uelsmann, Landon Douglas Uelsmann and Grant Henry Uelsmann; and two sisters-in-law, Helen Murray of Jackson, and Iris Jane Hoffmeister of Gravois Mills, Mo.
She was preceded in death by her husband; two sons, Bobby Leroy and Richard Glenn; three sisters, and two brothers.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home from 4 to 7 p.m. today.
The funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Cy Smith and the Rev. Todd Greer officiating. Burial will be in Lorimier Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
