ANNA, Ill. -- Dorothy Louise Boyd, 98, of Anna died Sunday, Sept. 30, 2007, at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion, Ill.
She was born April 24, 1909, in Dongola, Ill., daughter of Clarence and Fannie Collins Henley. She and Carl W. Boyd were married April 17, 1937, in Balcom, Ill. He died Sept. 26, 2003.
Boyd was a 1926 graduate of Anna-Jonesboro Community High School, and completed a bachelor's degree in education from Southern Illinois University in 1963.
Prior to being married she was a teacher in Pittsburg, Ill., and later taught at Lincoln School in Anna, retiring in 1972. She was a member of First Baptist Church, A-J Woman's Club, and an honorary member of Anna-Jo Garden Club.
Survivors include a daughter, Nancy Warren of Corvallis, Ore.; a son, Tom Boyd of Hawthorn Woods, Ill.; a sister, Henryetta Knobel of Kirkwood, Mo.; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Anna.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Anna City Cemetery.
