SIKESTON, Mo. -- Cynthia Louise Blackburn, 85, of Sikeston died Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2003, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Nov. 20, 1917, in Peach Orchard, Ark., daughter of Charles and Grace Kennemur Scott. She and Bertis DeRandolph Blackburn were married Aug. 28, 1935, at Kennett, Mo. He died July 23, 1975.
Blackburn was a manager at Cowbell Restaurant for Reiss Dairy, and later co-owned Blackburn Grill.
She lived in Sikeston most of her life. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, served as unit president of the local United Methodist Women and district president of UMW. She was a member of Order of Eastern Star Chapter 137 and Laurett Alpha Eta chapter of Beta Sigma Phi.
Survivors include a son, Bertis Blackburn of Sikeston; a brother, Charles Scott of Summerville, S.C.; three sisters, Charlene Samon of Troy, Mo., Mary Hughes of Little Rock, Ark., Phyllis Boatner of Molalla, Ore.; a grandson; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister.
Friends may call at Blanchard Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. today.
The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church. The Revs. Bill Koch and Sandra Schaller will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
