Louise Helen Austin, 98, of Cape Girardeau died Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at Life Care Center.
She was born July 17, 1925, in Marquand to David P. and Stella Maude Shrum Cook. She and Lane E. Austin were married Sept. 14, 1945, in Cape Girardeau. He preceded her in death Nov. 17, 2003.
Louise was a member of First Pentecostal Church of Cape Girardeau, where she taught Sunday school for more than 45 years.
Survivors include three sons, Edward Ray Austin of Cape Girardeau, James Eugene Austin of Benton, Missouri, and Michael Leon Austin of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Linda Lou Fondaw of Cambridge, Illinois; two brothers, Buford Austin of Benton, Arkansas, and John Austin of Warrenton; two sisters, Velma Wilson of Santa Maria, California, and Pauline Kenner of St. Louis; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Louise was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a brother and a son-in-law, William Michael Fondaw.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, June 8, at First Pentecostal Church in Cape Girardeau.
Funeral will follow at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 8, at the church, with the Rev. Darrell Faire officiating. Burial will be at Fairmount Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
