JACKSON -- Louis Denford Sparks, 67, of Jackson died Monday, Aug. 17, 1998, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born March 31, 1931, in Hernando, Miss., son of Jesse Joe and Effie Aritta Vinson Sparks. He and Wanda Stone were married Dec. 22, 1956, at Chaffee.
Sparks worked at International Shoe Co. in Jackson 31 years, and then 12 years at Boatmen's Bank, retiring June 30, 1997. He was a member of First Baptist Church.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1952-54.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Curtis Sparks of Jackson; four brothers, Wilburn Sparks of Jackson, Elwood Sparks of Malden, Clayton and Hoit Sparks of St. Louis; and a sister, Pauline Jerome of Springfield, Ill.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Friends may call at Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home from 4-8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Brian Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.
