JONESBORO, Ill. -- Louis P. "Lum" Ralls, 72, of Jonesboro died Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2003, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. He was born Nov. 14, 1930, in Jonesboro, son of Richard Herman and Marie Tucker Ralls. He and Frances Lehmann were married Sept. 30, 1952, in Erlangen, Germany...

JONESBORO, Ill. -- Louis P. "Lum" Ralls, 72, of Jonesboro died Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2003, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Nov. 14, 1930, in Jonesboro, son of Richard Herman and Marie Tucker Ralls. He and Frances Lehmann were married Sept. 30, 1952, in Erlangen, Germany.

Ralls was retired from the Illinois Department of Corrections. He was a lifelong member of Carroll P. Foster VFW Post 3455 in Anna, Ill.

He was a veteran of the Korean War.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Richard Ralls of Anna, Tony Ralls of Carbondale, Ill., Harry Ralls of Cape Girardeau; three daughters, Ursula Reynolds and Kathy Freeman of Jonesboro, Marlene Freeman of East Cape Girardeau, Ill.; and his mother of Anna.

Also surviving are five sisters, Ethel Hassfield and Linda Eudy of Jonesboro, Sue Burris and Elizabeth Ramage of Anna, Barbara Sullivan of Lick Creek, Ill.; nine brothers, Herman "Tuffy", Joe and Chuck Ralls of Jonesboro, Carol "Curley", Richard, Jim, Melvin and Mike Ralls of Anna, Harold Ralls of Texas; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father and a granddaughter.

Friends may call Friday at Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Anna from noon until time of service.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with Dr. Richard Hertenstein officiating. Burial will be in Jonesboro Cemetery, with full military honors by Carroll P. Foster VFW Post.
