CAIRO, Ill. -- Louis F. Martin Jr., 79, of Cairo, died Tuesday, June 4, 1996, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
He was born Jan. 6, 1917, in Cairo, son of Louis and Bessie Dunlap Martin.
Martin was operational supervisor with Nabisco in Cairo 46 years. He attended First Southern Baptist Church, was a member of Egyptian Country Club, and a life member of Cairo VFW Post 2649. He was a veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Eleanor; two daughters, Deanna Sullivan of Cairo, Shawn Hartmann of Villa Ridge; five sons, Louis Martin III of Harlingen, Texas, Mike and Kris Martin of Cairo, Patrick Martin of Knotts Island, N.C., Kenton Martin of Cape Girardeau; two sisters, Vivian Stephenson of Cahokia, LaDon Finn of Apopka, Fla.; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister and two brothers.
Friends may call at Barkett Funeral Home in Cairo after 5 p.m. today, and at First Southern Baptist Church after 9 a.m. Friday.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the church, with the Revs. Raymond Oxford and Bill Gholson officiating. Burial will be in Green Lawn Memorial Gardens at Villa Ridge.
