EAST PRAIRIE -- Louis E. "Blue" Turley, 75, of East Prairie, died Wednesday, July 27, 1994, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Aug. 15, 1918, in Sikeston, son of Sherman Reed and Verbal Lands Turley. He and Vida Payne were married Nov. 18, 1939.

Turley moved here 38 years ago from Sikeston. He was shed foreman with Missouri State Highway Department several years, and was retired from Levee District 3.

He was a member of the Big Book Club, Eagles, East Prairie City Council, reserve deputy sheriff, and former member of the Masonic Lodge. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Jerry Turley of Meridian, Miss., Larry Turley of Charleston, John Turley of Nashville, Tenn.; five daughters, Linda Linhart, Sue Keeton, Pamela Allred and Janie Marcum of East Prairie, Kathy Rakestraw of Sikeston; a brother, L.T. Turley of Sikeston; three sisters, Lola Miller and Lorene Kirby of Sikeston, Lela Tate of St. Charles; 16 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie after 8 a.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with Johnny Bell officiating. Burial will be in Dogwood Cemetery near here.
