Louis Crites

Louis F. Crites, 80, formerly of Whitewater, passed away Friday, Dec. 9, 2022, at Ratliff Care Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Jan. 2, 1942, in Cape Girardeau to Arnold F. and Loretta Rhodes Crites.

Louis was a 1959 graduate of Delta High School. He worked in retail sales in the men's department of JC Penney and Zale's Jewelry stores, both in St. Louis. In his spare time, he enjoyed reading.

Loving survivors include his children, Julie (Dave) Dyer of Whitewater and Alyssa Oaks of Austin, Texas; grandchildren, Jacob (Lauren) Dyer, Michaela Dyer and Daniel Dyer; great-granddaughters, Melia and Makenna Dyer; and sisters, Marilyn Crites of Whitewater and Sheriann (Tony) Hughey of Sullivan, Missouri.

Louis was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be from noon to 1:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 16, at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

The Rev. Mike Dugan will conduct the funeral service at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 16, at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to the donor's choice of church or charity.
