Louis Bauer

ANNA, Ill. -- Louis H. Bauer, 77, of Sun City, Ariz., and formerly of Union County died Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2003, at Hospice of the Valley Care Center in Mesa, Ariz.

He was born March 6, 1925, in Jonesboro, Ill., son of Ernest and Emma Roth Bauer. He married Betty Jo Gillespie in 1947. She preceded him in death on Aug. 6, 1989.

He was an electrical engineer who worked in the aeronautics field. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, serving in World War II and the Korean War. He was baptized in the Salem Lutheran Church in Anna and was confirmed in the Trinity Lutheran Church in Anna.

He is survived by a daughter, Cheryl Lee Bauer of Chandler, Ariz.; a sister, Grace E. Bauer of Anna; and a brother, Bruno C. Bauer of Jonesboro.

He also was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Lutz & Rendleman Funeral Home in Anna. Visitation also will be held after 1 p.m. Monday at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Anna.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the church with the Rev. Paul Weber officiating.

Burial will be at the Anna City Cemetery.
