SCOTT CITY -- Louis Albert Walter, 68, of 2301 James in Scott City died Saturday, Feb. 29, 1992, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Aug. 28, 1923, at Ancell, the son of William and Amelia Sander Walter. On Sept. 3, 1955, he married Mary Alice Ressel, who survives of the home
He was a foreman for Central Foods of Cape Girardeau until his retirement in 1985. He also was a veteran of World War II, where he served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Eisleben Lutheran Church in Scott City and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #6407 in Scott City.
Other survivors include three sons, Delbert Walter of Cape Girardeau, Lindell Walter of Barnwell, S.C., and Milton Walter of Swansca, S.C.; three daughters, Mary Jo Fuhrmann of Barnwell, S.C., Colleen Day of Frederick, Md., and Lavana Baldasare of Parlin, N.J.; a brother, Bill Walter of Cape Girardeau; two sisters, Evelyn Smith and Wilma Walter, both of Scott City; a grandchild; and a great-grandchild.
Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Eisleben Lutheran Church. The Rev. Barry Pfanstiel will officiate, and burial will be in the church cemetery, with graveside military rites conducted by V.F.W. Post #6407 of Scott City.
