ADVANCE -- Louie Thomas Young, 88, of Junction City, Kansas, formerly of Poplar Bluff, died Tuesday, Dec. 24, 1991, at the Gary Community Hospital in Junction City.
He was born Oct. 2, 1903 at Dexter, the son of John Henry Young and Florence Hampton Young.
He was a builder and contractor in Poplar Bluff from 1943 until 1987.
He married Mary Blanche Thacker on Aug. 13, 1923. She preceded him in death March 31, 1978.
He is survived by one son, Jim Young, Junction City, Kansas; three daughters, Emma Lee Huffman, Advance, Kathy Parker, Junction City, Bonita Wagner, Kent, Wash.; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by an infant son, one brother and one infant great-grandson.
Funeral service will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at Mt. Pisgah General Baptist Church in Aquilla, Mo. with the Rev. Arvil Huffman officiating. The Rev. Mike Huffman and Larry Parker will assist. Burial will follow in Poplar Bluff City Cemetery.
Friends may call at the church Saturday from noon until the funeral service. Morgan Funeral Home of Advance is in charge of local arrangements.
