EAST PRAIRIE -- Funeral service for Louie G. Pool of East Prairie will be held at 2 p.m. today at Shelby Funeral Chapel. Ernest Brown will officiate, with burial in Dogwood Cemetery.

Pool, 96, died Thursday, Aug. 20, 1992, at John J. Pershing VA Medical Center in Poplar Bluff.

He was born March 1, 1896, in East Prairie, son of Delmer and Mary Elizabeth Endicott Pool. He and Irene Willie were married in May 1917. She died May 4, 1972.

Pool had been a carpenter, and attended First General Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I.

There are no survivors.

He was preceded in death by a daughter.
