FESTUS, Mo. -- Louella Jeffries, 92, of Festus passed away Thursday, Dec. 7, 2017, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City, Missouri.
She was born Sept. 21, 1925, in Dexter, Missouri, the daughter of the late Melvina (nee Fletcher) and Asa Lee Adkins.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Leonard "Gene" Jeffries Sr.; a son, Steven Jeffries; and sisters, Maxine (the late Loren) Hunt and Bonnie Hulls.
She is survived by daughters Lenora (Roy) Ziegler of Benton, Missouri, Melinda (Randy Elfrink) Young of Barnhart, Missouri, Melody (Larry) Nausley of Festus, Brenda (Victor Alba) Jeffries of Festus, Sherri (Stacey) Duckett of Montgomery City, Missouri, Tracey (Wayne) DeBrock of Oran, Missouri, and Beverly Jeffries of Festus; sons Leonard (Cindy) Jeffries Jr. of Festus and John (Melissa Zimpfer) Jeffries of Festus; a brother, Fletcher "Buster" (the late Levive) Adkins of Bernie, Missouri; 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 3 p.m. until the time of funeral service at 6 p.m. Monday at Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus, officiated by Deacon Dan Raidt. Interment will be in Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens.
Memorials in her memory are preferred to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Shriners Hospitals for Children.
