Loudean Jones Case, 89, of Jackson passed away Thursday, Nov. 4, 2021, at Chateau Girardeau in Cape Girardeau.
The fourth of six children, Loudean was born Nov. 30, 1932, in Scott County, Missouri, to Harry J. and Gladys M. Campbell Abernathy.
She married Glenn Jones. Four children were born to their union, Donna, Sharon, Carolyn and Allen. Glenn preceded her in death. She later married James Case, and they resided several years in Doe Run, Missouri. James preceded her in death.
Loudean was raised in Crump and attended Delta High School. She worked as a breakfast cook at Delmonico's in Jackson.
Loudean was an avid gardener of vegetables and flowers, and she liked to cook, sew and can vegetables. Above all, she enjoyed spending time with her family, and they fondly remember her love of Thanksgiving.
Loving survivors include two children, Donna (Don) Livingston of Whitewater and Carolyn (Vic) Burns of Jackson; two siblings, Gene (Maxine) Abernathy of Gentry, Arkansas, and Olline (the late Loomis "Jock") Brown of Jackson; a sister-in-law, Martha (the late Raymond) Abernathy of Whitewater; seven grandchildren, Garret (Jill), Eston (Tracy), Anna (Richard), Aron, Brittany, Brandi (Luke) and Glenn (Amber); 24 great-grandchildren, Cody, Jordan, Grady, Logan, Roland, Kaycee, Weston, Kinzie, Nate, Paige, Maddie, Hannah, Bailey, Eli, Matthew, Mason, JoeJoe, Zachary, Isaac, Luke, Elijah, Oliver, Frances and Warren; two great-great-grandchildren, Kash and Lawson; several nieces and nephews; and a stepson, Tim Case.
Loudean was preceded in death by two children, Sharon George and Allen Jones; spouses, Glenn Jones and James Case; parents; two adult siblings, Lentice (Betty) Abernathy and Raymond Abernathy; and a young brother, Willard Abernathy.
Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Monday at Bethlehem General Baptist Church in Crump.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the church, with the Rev. Joe Allen officiating. Burial will follow at Bark's Chapel Cemetery in Crump.
Memorials may take the form of contributions to Gideons International, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Shriners Hospitals for Children or Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital.
Arrangements are by McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.
