THEBES, Ill. -- Louann Carter, 72, of Thebes died Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2001, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born July 30, 1928, in Pinckneyville, Ill., daughter of Ed and Anna Bailey Williams. She married Carl L. Carter, who died in 1975.
Carter retired as a cook at Egyptian School near Tamms, Ill.
Survivors include three sons, Jim and Michael Carter of Centralia, Ill., Benny Carter of East Cape Girardeau, Ill.; two daughters, Roseanna Carter of Cape Girardeau, Anita Spano of Plainfield, Ill.; a brother, Curtis Williams of Granite City, Ill.; and nine grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers.
Friends may call at Jones Funeral Home in Tamms from 5-8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. David Pringle officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
