ALTENBURG, Mo. -- Lorna C. Bohnert, 82, of Altenburg died Friday, Aug. 14, 2015, at the Holiday Residential Care in Perryville, Missouri. She was born Feb. 21, 1933, in Altenburg, daughter of Alfred C. and Theresia Hunt Meinz. She and Edward R. Bohnert were married Oct. 27, 1951. He survives at the Holiday Residential Care...

ALTENBURG, Mo. -- Lorna C. Bohnert, 82, of Altenburg died Friday, Aug. 14, 2015, at the Holiday Residential Care in Perryville, Missouri.

She was born Feb. 21, 1933, in Altenburg, daughter of Alfred C. and Theresia Hunt Meinz. She and Edward R. Bohnert were married Oct. 27, 1951. He survives at the Holiday Residential Care.

Lorna had been a CNA at Perry County Memorial Hospital 30 years. She and Ida Fiedler started the "Bucket Brigade." She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and choir, and LWML in Altenburg.

Other survivors include two sons, Charles and Martha Bohnert of Altenburg and Dale and Joan Bohnert of Frohna, Missouri; one daughter, Susan and Bob Jalack of Lake St. Louis, Missouri; one sister, Mabel Wilke of St. Louis; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-stepgrandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents; six brothers, Rudy, Henry, Edwin, Curt, Ellis and Floyd Meinz; and three sisters, Cordy Voepel, Erna Frentzel and Edna Weinhold.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and from 6:30 to 8:30 a.m. Tuesday at Young and Sons East Perry Chapel in Altenburg.

She then will be taken to Trinity Lutheran Church in Altenbug for the funeral service at 10 a.m., with Rev. Steven Dressler officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Memorials are preferred to Trinity Lutheran Choir, UCLS, Immanuel Lutheran Radio Broadcast in Perryville or St. John Lutheran Radio Broadcast in Chester, Illinois.
