ADVANCE, Mo. — Lorene Williams, 78, of Advance died Sunday, May 18, 2008, at Advance Nursing Center.
She was born Oct. 21, 1929, at McGee, Mo., daughter of Clarence and Lillie VanMatre Wills. She and John Williams were married May 29, 1954. He died Sept. 17, 1987.
Williams was a member of Advance First Baptist Church, taught Sunday school 40 years, and also had been a church custodian.
Survivors include a son, Donald E. Williams of Bloomfield, Mo.; a daughter, Dianne Williams of Advance; a brother, Bill Wills of McGee, Mo.; four sisters, Wanda Rodgers and Norma VanMatre of Advance, Mary Hill of Granite City, Ill., Louise Lafferty of Bloomfield; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and a sister.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Morgan Funeral Home.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Eric Shrum officiating. Burial will be in Brush Creek Cemetery at Arab, Mo.
