Perryville, Mo. -- Lorene M. Puchbauer, 89, formerly of Jackson, died Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2010, at Perry Oaks Manor in Perryville, where she resided the past two months. She was born Nov. 10, 1920, in Jackson, to William and Eleanor Ludwig Puchbauer. Perryville, Mo. -- Lorene M. Puchbauer, 89, formerly of Jackson, died Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2010, at Perry Oaks Manor in Perryville, where she resided the past two months.

She was born Nov. 10, 1920, in Jackson, to William and Eleanor Ludwig Puchbauer. She was raised on the family farm near Oak Ridge, graduated from Oak Ridge High School and was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ in Fruitland.

She went on to graduate from Southeast Missouri State University and then completed various courses in music and voice at the University of Chicago. She lived in Kirkwood, Mo., for 60-plus years, and in 1985 retired after 40 years of teaching music and voice in the Kirkwood school system.

Survivors include a sister-in-law, Margaret Puchbauer of Jackson; a niece, Lisa Craig; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Verlin Puchbauer.

Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until time of service Friday at the chapel of McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Revs. David Schaffner and Sam Roethemeyer officiating.

Interment will follow in St. John's Cemetery in Fruitland.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to St. John's Church or Cemetery Fund.
