MOREHOUSE -- Lorene Proctor, 82, of Morehouse died Thursday, Dec. 25, 1997, at the Sells Rest Home in Matthews.

She was born Sept. 10, 1915, in Atkins, Ark., daughter of O.H. and Vida King Crouthers.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Morehouse. She was a 50-year member of the Morehouse Chapter 450 Order of the Eastern Star. She had been a saleswoman for 15 years at the Woolworth Department Store and had worked as a secretary for the Scott, New Madrid, Mississippi County Electric Co-op. She also worked as a ward clerk at Missouri Delta Medical Center.

On June 7, 1933, she married Woodrow Wilson Proctor at Essex. He died May 11, 1979.

She is survived by a son, Frank D. Proctor of Atlanta, four grandsons and eight great-grandchildren.

A brother and two sisters preceded her in death.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston. At 7:30, Eastern Star rites will be held.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Dolan Rogers officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
