MARBLE HILL -- Lorene Peters, 85, of Marble Hill died Thursday, April 6, 2000, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born July 23, 1914, at Kennett, daughter of Daniel B. and Idar Hayes King. She and John Peters were married June 8, 1940. He died Dec. 24, 1978.
Survivors include two sons, John and Virgil Peters of Marble Hill; six daughters, Ruth Britton of Dexter, Irene Peters of Cape Girardeau, Mary Powers, Esther Welker, Bernadine Peters and Rose Ann Beel of Marble Hill; a half sister, Lois Burkhart of Poplar Bluff; 15 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, a half brother, two half sisters and a grandchild.
Friends may call at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill from 4-8 p.m. Sunday. Parish prayers and Knights of Columbus rosary will be at 7.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. John's Catholic Church. The Rev. Bill Huggins will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
