CHARLESTON -- Lorene Montjoy Samuels, 86, of Charleston died Tuesday, Dec. 3, 1996, at the Sikeston Health Care Center.
She was born June 23, 1910, in Wolf Island, the daughter of Thomas and Mary Montjoy. On May 16, 1941, she married Roy Samuels, who preceded her in death on June 30, 1982.
Samuels lived in Missouri most of her life. She was a retired schoolteacher and a member of Perry Chapel A.M.E. church, where she formerly was church secretary.
Survivors include one brother, Charles Montjoy of Minneapolis, Minn.; and several cousins.
Friends may call from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Sunday at Sparks Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at the Perry Chapel A.M.E. Church with the Rev. Debbie Thornton officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery in Charleston.
