LORENE LOVE

JACKSON -- Lorene Love, 92, of Jackson, died Friday, Dec. 10, 1993, at Cape LaCroix in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Oct. 8, 1901, in Oak Ridge, daughter of William Bennett and Elizabeth Ann Dalton Crites. She and Rev. Francis Love were married Jan. 28, 1922, in Cape Girardeau. He died Sept. 6, 1990.

Love had taught in various schools, including Cape Girardeau Public Schools. She was a member of New McKendree United Methodist Church and its Naomi Circle, and member of PEO Chapter DJ. The Love Bell Choir at New McKendree was named for the couple.

Survivors include a nephew, Owen Crites of Jackson, and a niece, Virginia Giddings of Bridgeton.

She was preceded in death by a brother and sister.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at New McKendree Church. The Revs. O. Otto Steinhaus, O. David Griffin and Nancy Woods will officiate. Burial will be in Lorimier Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.

Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home from 3-8 p.m. today, and Sunday from 8:30 a.m.-1 p.m.
