FERGUSON, Mo. -- Lorene Lear, 92, of Ferguson died Thursday, Jan. 11, 2007, at De Paul Health Center in Bridgeton, Mo.
She was born Jan. 23, 1914, in Bertrand, Mo., daughter of Andrew Jackson and Effie Belver Marberry. She and Odis Abraham Lear were married in Benton, Mo., and he died in September 1975.
She had worked at a dress factory in Jackson at Magna-Visual in St. Louis. Later, she worked at North County Christian School Daycare as a day-care teacher for a number of years and retired in her 80s. She was a member of Ferguson Church of the Nazarene and formerly a member of First Church of the Nazarene in Cape Girardeau.
She is survived by a daughter, Carolyn (Bill) Hitt of Ferguson, Mo.; two brothers, Howard and Alvin Marberry, both of Cape Girardeau; three grandchildren, Debbie McGuire, Julie (Mike) Bono, Amy (Bret) Freeman; and nine great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Billy Gene Lear and two brothers, Homer and Ralph Marberry.
There is no visitation.
A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Lorimier Cemetery.
