PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Lorene Moll Bohnert, 86, of Perryville went to her heavenly home Saturday, Jan. 5, 2019.
She was born April 8, 1932, in Burfordville, daughter of Herman and Edna Siebert Moll. She and Arnold E. Bohnert were married Aug. 26, 1956. They moved to a farm at Crosstown, Missouri, and they farmed until he passed away suddenly May 14, 1993.
Lorene was baptized May 15, 1932, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Tilsit. She attended Cane Creek School in Burfordville and Immanuel Lutheran School in Tilsit, where she was confirmed May 14, 1946. She graduated from Jackson High School in 1950 and graduated from Steimle Business College. She was employed at State Farm Insurance in Cape Girardeau.
Lorene was instrumental in helping with the Braille Book Center for the blind in Crosstown. She belonged to the Zion Ladies Aid, American Legion Auxiliary and Perry County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, where she had been employed for 36 years. She loved to bowl and was an avid bowler for many years, where she received numerous awards and was on many teams through the years up to a ripe age of 84. The very last ball she ever rolled was a strike. She was very active on her farm, raking hay and driving her Kawasaki Mule at the age of 84 around the farm, sometimes racing back to her home with friends in tow to beat a storm rolling in.
Survivors include two sons, David (Lorri) Bohnert and Timothy (Elizabeth) Bohnert; four grandchildren, Micah (Amy), Meghan (Robert) Lee and Camden (Chelsea) and Andrew; a great-grandson, Owen Lee; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a sister, Norma Moll; and three brothers, Ervin, Edgar and Albert Moll.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 6:30 to 8:15 a.m. Friday at Young and Sons Funeral Home.
She will then be taken to Zion Lutheran Church in Crosstown for a service at 10 a.m. Friday, with the Rev. Roger Abernathy officiating. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Crosstown, where she will wait to meet her Lord on Resurrection Day.
Memorials are preferred to Zion Lutheran Church in Crosstown or Alpha Hospice in Edmond, Oklahoma.
