DORENA, Mo. -- Lorene C. Bennett, 75, of Dorena died Sunday, Sept. 16, 2001, at Missouri Delta Medical Center. She was born March 7, 1926, at Camden, Tenn., daughter of Mims and Lillie Harper Beasley. She and Ruben "Brother" Bennett were married Jan. 22, 1946...

DORENA, Mo. -- Lorene C. Bennett, 75, of Dorena died Sunday, Sept. 16, 2001, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.

She was born March 7, 1926, at Camden, Tenn., daughter of Mims and Lillie Harper Beasley. She and Ruben "Brother" Bennett were married Jan. 22, 1946.

Bennett and her husband owned and operated Bennett's Store in Dorena. She was of the Protestant faith.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, Barry Bennett of New Madrid, Mo., and Dennis Bennett of East Prairie, Mo.; a brother, Woodrow Beasley of Cahokia, Ill.; two sisters, Kathryn Marcum of High Ridge, Mo., and Marie St. John of Erin, Tenn.; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie after 6 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the chapel. Martin Lucas and David Dowdy will officiate, with burial in East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery.
