NORMAN, Okla. -- Loren A. Flowers, 68, of Norman, Okla., died Friday, Dec. 28, 2001, at his home. He was born May 7, 1933, in Stoddard County, Mo., son of Arthor Harrison and Hattie Mae Lowe Flowers. NORMAN, Okla. -- Loren A. Flowers, 68, of Norman, Okla., died Friday, Dec. 28, 2001, at his home.

He was born May 7, 1933, in Stoddard County, Mo., son of Arthor Harrison and Hattie Mae Lowe Flowers. He married the former Patsy Jones.

Flowers was in the U.S. Air Force from 1951-72, serving in the Korean and Vietnam wars.

He moved to Oklahoma City, Okla., where he graduated from barber college. He was a barber 29 years in Oklahoma, Hawaii, Missouri and Texas, retiring in 2000.

Flowers was a member of the Lutheran Church, member and past president of the Spirit of 76 Square Dance Club.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, David Flowers of Bonham, Texas, Isaac Flowers of Sherman, Texas; two daughters, Barbara Waldrop of Telephone, Texas, Christina Smith of Bonham; two sisters, Leona (Sis) Moore of Oran, Mo., June Proffer of Burfordville, Mo.; a brother, James Flowers of Cape Girardeau; and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and a sister.

Funeral with full military honors will be held at 2 p.m. today at Havenbrook Funeral Home in Norman. The Rev. Donald Whitis will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery.
