RENO, Nev. -- Loranza "Jack" Dowel Penrod, 67, of Reno died Saturday, May 8, 2010, at the VA Hospital in Reno.
He was born June 18, 1942, at Cape Girardeau, to Dennis and Mary Cornman Penrod. Loranza was raised in Cape for most of his life and later moved to Reno to be in the construction business. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force in the Vietnam War.
Survivors include his mother, Mary Penrod of Cape Girardeau; daughter Tracii Penrod (Ben Card) of San Francisco; sisters Mary Frances (Ray) Sweary of Clinton, Mo., Edith L. Menz of Sikeston, Mo., Martha (James) Ourth and Karen Penrod, both of Cape Girardeau, Roslyn Marberry of Jackson and Doris (Bill) Black of Michigan; an uncle; three aunts; several nieces; nephews; and great nieces.
He was preceded in death by his father.
A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at New Bethel Baptist Church in Pocahontas.
