Lora Long Pitney, 79, of Lakeland, Fla., died Monday, Sept. 30, 1991, at Meridian Nursing Center there.
She was born July 25, 1912, in Braggadocio. She married C. Robert Pitney, who preceded her in death. He was employed by the University of Missouri Extension Center at Jackson several years, retiring about 1975.
Pitney moved to Lakeland in 1979 from Cape Girardeau. She was a retired secretary, and member of First Presbyterian Church, PEO Chapter AW, Tuesday Music Club, Garden Club and Newcomers Club.
Survivors include a daughter, Fran Bohrer of Lakeland; a sister, Virginia Bader of Caruthersville; a brother, Charles Long of Memphis, Tenn.; three grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
Dukes-Steen Funeral Home of Lakeland was in charge of arrangements.
