ADVANCE, Mo. -- Lonnie Dale Stubenrauch, 66, of Advance passed away Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2016, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis after a difficult battle with Leukemia. ADVANCE, Mo. -- Lonnie Dale Stubenrauch, 66, of Advance passed away Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2016, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis after a difficult battle with Leukemia.

He was born Aug. 31, 1949, in Cape Girardeau to Barney and Coena Bucher Stubenrauch. On Feb. 1, 1969, he married Wilma Wylder in Scott City. They have shared 47 years together.

He worked for the Union Pacific Railroad for 33 years as a brakeman/conductor. Lonnie was raised in Scott City and graduated from Notre Dame High School in 1967. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Advance.

Throughout the years, he found joy in the simple, everyday activities on the family farms. He enjoyed going to farm-equipment auctions and showing his antique tractor.

Loving survivors include his wife, Wilma Lee Stubenrauch; two sons, Kevin (Amy) Stubenrauch of Bell City, Missouri, and Keith Stubenrauch of Advance; a daughter, Sheila (Seth) Cantrell of Advance; three grandsons, Logan Stubenrauch and Archie and Avery Cantrell; four granddaughters, Kamryn and Maggie Stubenrauch and Allie and Sophie Cantrell; and a sister, Donna (Mike) Bell of Cape Girardeau.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Gary Stubenrauch.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Advance, with the Rev. Randy Tochtrop as celebrant. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Advance.
