ANNA, Ill. -- Lona Caraker, 96, of Anna, died Wednesday, June 5, 1996, at Jonesboro Health Care Center. She was born Oct. 21, 1899, in Union County, daughter of William T. and Cindonia Davis Russell. She and Phillip Caraker were married Jan. 21, 1921. He died Sept. 2, 1976...

ANNA, Ill. -- Lona Caraker, 96, of Anna, died Wednesday, June 5, 1996, at Jonesboro Health Care Center.

She was born Oct. 21, 1899, in Union County, daughter of William T. and Cindonia Davis Russell. She and Phillip Caraker were married Jan. 21, 1921. He died Sept. 2, 1976.

Survivors include two sons, Richard Caraker of Anna, Marvin Caraker of Cobden; a daughter, Lois Blessing of Anna; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren, and several great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by eight brothers, three sisters, a granddaughter and a great-great-granddaughter.

Friends may call at Crain Funeral Home in Anna from 5-8 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with burial in Anna Cemetery.
