SIKESTON -- Lola Velma Jines, 90, of Sikeston died Saturday, Jan. 11, 1997, at Sikeston Convalescent Center. She was born Dec. 12, 1906, in Sikeston, daughter of Edgar H. and Levella Ruffin Smith. She first married Willard Sexton. She later married Jesse Jines, who preceded her in death...

SIKESTON -- Lola Velma Jines, 90, of Sikeston died Saturday, Jan. 11, 1997, at Sikeston Convalescent Center.

She was born Dec. 12, 1906, in Sikeston, daughter of Edgar H. and Levella Ruffin Smith. She first married Willard Sexton. She later married Jesse Jines, who preceded her in death.

Jines was a secretary at International Shoe Co. from the time it opened until it closed. She was a member of First Baptist Church.

Survivors include a son, James "Jim" Sexton of Sikeston; three sisters, Vernetta Williams of Sikeston, Mary Masters of East Prairie, and Shirley Colp of Benton, Ky.

She was preceded in death by two brothers.

There is no visitation or service.

Nunnelee Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
