Margaret Loiselle Fisher Ellis, 89, of Charleston, Mo., died Saturday, Nov. 3, 2007, at Charleston Manor.
She was born Jan. 20, 1918, in Cape Girardeau to Earnest G. and Chloe Alice Kassel Fisher. She married Joe E. Ellis Jr. Feb. 1, 1936. He died Oct. 25, 1988.
Ellis was a member of First Baptist Church in Charleston. She was a past member of the adult choir and taught vacation Bible school and Sunday school classes.
She was a member of the Junior Study Club and active in the Girl Scouts. She was also a member of the Mississippi County Historical Society and active in the local chapter of the American Cancer Society and had been a kindergarten teacher's aide in the Charleston school system.
She is survived by a son, Joe E. Ellis III of Charleston; two daughters, Chloe Karen Ellis Brown and Deidre Fisher Ellis Reed, both of Charleston; four grandsons; and a half brother.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a grandson, a brother and a sister.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the First Baptist Church in Charleston, with the Rev. Michael Brewer officiating. Interment will be in the IOOF Cemetery.
