Lois Edna Wittrock Oelschlager, 82, passed away Sunday, July 31, 2011, at Jackson Manor Nursing Home in Jackson.
She was born Jan. 16, 1929, in Philadelphia, to Howard and Mildred McGee Wittrock. Lois grew up with her two sisters, Irma and Joan, in Roxborough, Pa.
Lois and George Oelschlager were married 43 years. They moved to Florida in 1969, and Lois remained there until 2007. George preceded her in death in 1993.
She was an avid bridge player. She was a 25-year active member and past president of Jensen Beach Women's Club in Florida and a member of the Bridge Club at Stuart Recreational Center in Florida. She had more than 5,000 volunteer hours at Martin Memorial Hospital in Stuart, where she volunteered as a "Pink Lady."
Lois leaves three children, Marguerite McGee of Millersville, Gil (Elizabeth) Oelschlager of Knoxville, Tenn., Gail (Tom) Liebeknecht of Millersville; four grandchildren, Brandy Auer, Emily Reardon, Brandon Liebeknecht, Shelby Oelschlager; a sister, Joan O. Hayden of Stuart; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and a sister, Irma M. Roberts.
The service is private.
