CHARLESTON, Mo. -- Lois Rose McCrite, 63, of Charleston, formerly of Cairo, Ill., died Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2008, at Landmark Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Aug. 13, 1945, in Anna, Ill., daughter of Ferrell Virgil and Lucille Smith McCrite Sr.
McCrite lived in Cairo most of her life where she was a cook at the Cairo Elks Lodge. She later moved to Charleston where she was employed at Casey's General Store. She attended First General Baptist Church in Charleston.
Survivors include a son, William McCrite of Charleston; two daughters, Ellen Kallaher of Jacksonville, Fla., Roslyn McCrite of Charleston; three brothers, James McCrite of Cape Girardeau, Robert and Ferrell McCrite of Olive Branch, Ill.; a sister, Beverly Reed of Mexico, Mo.; and seven grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.
Friends may call from 1 p.m. until time of service Sunday at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Gerald Penn officiating. Private burial will be at a later date.
