ADVANCE, Mo. -- The sun was shining gloriously Saturday, Nov. 24, 2018, as Lois June Jordan of Advance stepped gently into the light of the Son. Lois, known as June, was 82 and was at home after having battled metastic colon cancer for nearly three years.

June was born to Howard and Inez Abner on Oct. 20, 1936, in Bell City, Missouri. June and Alfred Jordan were united in marriage July 1, 1955, at Jackson. A few years later they moved to Advance to raise their family.

She graduated from Bell City High School in 1954. She began her work career as a bookkeeper for LB Price Mercantile in St. Louis after graduation. She retired from the work force after 17 years as a rural route carrier with the U.S. Postal Service in Advance.

June's family cherished her. June is remembered as being a very kind and sweet soul. Always a smile on her face and a kind word for all she encountered. She was a small lady with a big heart and a twinkle in her eyes.
