Lois L Fairchild, 89, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, March 17, 2006, at Chateau Girardeau Health Center in Cape Girardeau. She was born Oct. 18, 1916, in Independence, Iowa, daughter of Charles and Julia Polen. She and Dwayne Fairchild were married June 16, 1934, in Walker, Iowa. He preceded her in death in April 1995...

Lois L Fairchild, 89, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, March 17, 2006, at Chateau Girardeau Health Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Oct. 18, 1916, in Independence, Iowa, daughter of Charles and Julia Polen. She and Dwayne Fairchild were married June 16, 1934, in Walker, Iowa. He preceded her in death in April 1995.

She was a member of The Assembly of God Church in Moreno Valley, Calif. She was the owner of the first resort on Table Rock Lake. Fairchild retired in the early 1970s. She was a wonderful homemaker and an avid gardener.

Survivors include two daughters, Jan Wilson and husband Joe of Cape Girardeau, Roberta Walter and husband John of Clinton, Mo.; seven grandchildren, Gail Fairchild, Tammy Fairchild, Susan Walter, Rebecca Smith, LaVonne Arnold, John Walter, Susan Walter; 11 great-grandchildren, Madison Pear, Jason Walter, Jeremy Walter, Zachary Arnold, Titus Arnold, Olivia Arnold, Britni, Tyler, Dustin Walter, Hunter Holmes, Quentin Wilson.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dwayne Fairchild; two sons, Ronald Fairchild, Dwayne Fairchild Jr., two brothers; and two sisters.

Visitation will be Monday, March 20, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Chapel.

Funeral service will be Tuesday, March 21, at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.

Burial will be at Crestlawn Memorial Park in Riverside, Calif., at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Easter Seals.

Ford and Sons is in charge of the arrangements.
