ORAN -- Lois E. "Dude" Griffin, 70, of Oran died Friday, April 17, 1992 at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born June 10, 1921 in Hornesville, Mo., son of William Hoad Griffin and Cordia Atteberry Griffin.
He was a retired garageman for Union Electric and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
On Nov. 29, 1946, he married the former Dorothy Harper. She survives.
He is also survived by one son, Roy William Griffin, Leander, Texas; one daughter, Barbara Sheriff, Austin, Texas; three brothers, Norman Griffin, Vanduser, Murphy Griffin, Morley, Bond Lee Griffin, Aquilla; two sisters, Bernice Eason, Sikeston, Evelyn Seabaugh, Cape Girardeau; and four grandchildren.
One sister and one brother preceded him in death.
He was a member of First Baptist Church in Oran and Chaffee Elks Lodge 1810.
Funeral service will be held today at 2 p.m. at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran with the Rev. Jim Matthews officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens near Morley.
Visitation and an Elks service were held Saturday at the funeral home.
