Lois Dodd-Tucker of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2020, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Aug. 24, 1924, at Naylor, Missouri, daughter of George and Zephra Fowler Blackledge.
On April 1, 1945, she married Paul Dodd, an auctioneer and Realtor. Lois worked as a co-partner in Dodd Realty with her husband for many years in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. Paul died Oct. 2, 1972,
She married Freeman Tucker on Dec. 28, 1975. He died Oct. 25, 1988. Freeman was a retired barber.
Lois moved from Poplar Bluff to Cape Girardeau in 1994. She wanted to be near family to visit and help out when needed. She found plenty of ways to help indeed!
She was an active member of the West Side Church of God in Poplar Bluff for several years, and a member of the Cape Community Church in Cape Girardeau, in which she taught a Sunday school class.
Lois was a member (sighted) of the River City Workers of the Blind, as she provided transportation and assistance to blind members in the organization. Also, she assisted in the meetings at Good Shepherd Outreach for the Blind.
Survivors include a sister, Ruth Ann (Dewayne) Mabry of Millersville; a dear cousin, Sabrina Fowler of Cape Girardeau; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; spouses; sisters, Doris Blackledge and Wilma Kenser; a brother-in-law, Troy Kenser; and a nephew, Robert Kenser.
Visitation will be begin at noon Monday at Fowler and Son's Funeral Home in Neelyville, Missouri, with the funeral following at 2 p.m.
Burial will be at Memorial Garden Cemetery in Poplar Bluff.
