LOIS BURPO

COBDEN, Ill. -- Lois Burpo, 95, of Cobden died Sunday, May 2, 1999, at the home of a daughter in Chebanse.

She was born Nov. 17, 1903, in Union County, daughter of Benjamin and Fanny Cox. She and Earl Burpo were married July 14, 1927, in Pinckneyville. He died July 23, 1995.

Prior to her marriage she worked in the dining room at Anna State Hospital. She was a lifelong resident of Union County and helped her husband with the farm. She was a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Vae Ingram of Chebanse; three grandchildren; and five great-grandsons.

She was preceded in death by a grandson, three sisters, and two brothers.

Funeral will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Crain Funeral Home in Anna. The Rev. Hal Trovillion will officiate. Burial will be in Anna Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday from 1 p.m. until service time.
