PIEDMONT, Mo. -- Lois Boston, 84, formerly of Cape Girardeau, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2016, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.

She was born July 6, 1932, in Piedmont, the daughter of the late Lawrence and Verbie Stephens Hixson.

A resident of Cape Girardeau since 1964, she worked for many years in voter registration for the Cape Girardeau County Clerk's office. She was a longtime member of Centenary United Methodist Church in Cape Girardeau.

She was married to Thomas H. Boston III on March 22, 1951, in Piedmont, and he passed away Nov. 21, 2007.

Survivors include two sons, Thomas H. Boston IV of Fredericktown, Missouri, and Robert T. Boston of Poplar Bluff; two sisters, Miriam Ward of West Plains, Missouri, and Joann Carter of Piedmont; four grandchildren, Brooke Hinklin, Lindsey Fowler, Gretchen Boston and Samantha Boston; and six great-grandchildren, Shelby, Seren, Madison, Anna Kate, Benjamin and Gauge.

Visitation will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Morrison-Worley Funeral Chapel in Piedmont.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral chapel, with the Rev. Jeff Johnson officiating. Interment will be in Piedmont Masonic Cemetery.

Memorials have been suggested to Centenary United Methodist Church in Cape Girardeau.
