Lois L. Adelman, 86, of Jackson died Oct. 13, 2012, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
She was born on June 24, 1926 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, daughter of Dewitt and Bertha (Kroeger) Simmerman. She and Blaine Adelman Sr. were married on Dec. 22, 1983. He preceded her in death on June 15, 2000.
Mrs. Adelman had been a dental assistant, proof reader for a stamp company and a homemaker.
Survivors include a son, Gene (Barbara) Green of Catskill, NY; and two daughters, Josie (John) Adelman of Perryville, Terrie (Al) Weaver of Jackson, Mo; four sisters, Betty Jackson, Joyce (Rod) Hemmerick, Elaine Polliet all of Creighton, Neb., Linda Simmerman of San Diego, Calif.; one brother, David Simmerman of Creighton, Neb., seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandsons.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, two sisters, one grandson, and two great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at Young & Sons Funeral Home on Tuesday, Oct. 16 from 10 a.m. until time of service at 1 p.m. with Rev. David Israel officiating. Burial in Home Cemetery.
Memorials are preferred to American Cancer Society.
