L.M. "Bud" Hartline, 92, of Cape Girardeau, formerly of East Cape Girardeau and Elco, Ill., died Monday, April 25, 1994, at St. Francis Medical Center.
He was born Feb. 16, 1902, at Elco, son of Thomas Lemuel and Amanda Ellen Scarbarough Hartline. He married the former Gladys Gearing.
Hartline was a former sheriff, treasurer and county commissioner of Alexander County. He was also a former game warden with state of Illinois, and retired carpenter.
He had been active in civic activities, served as a county precinct committeeman, and was a former director for the HUD program in Alexander County.
Hartline was a member of Elco Methodist Church, and was a 70-year member of Odd Fellows 241 of Jonesboro.
Survivors include his wife.
Friends may call at Jones Funeral Home in Tamms after 5 p.m. today, with an Odd Fellows service at 7.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Lacie Betts officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery near Dongola.
