NEW MADRID -- Lloyd B. Williams, 79, of New Madrid died Thursday, March 11, 1999, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
He was born July 4, 1919, in Coslesco, Miss., son of Thomas and Ira Huff Williams. He and Jessie Willene Jackson were married Nov. 1, 1940, in New Madrid.
A resident of New Madrid County most of his life, he was a retired machine operator. He was a member of Brown-Twitty American Legion Post 595 in New Madrid, and VFW Post in Lilbourn. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include his wife; four sons, Roger Williams of Kewanee, Lloyd Williams of Lawrenceburg, Tenn., Douglas Williams of Nampa, Idaho, Tony Williams of Columbia, Tenn.; two daughters, Janie Rees of Murphysboro, Ill., Linda Beardsley of Sikeston; a brother, Henry Williams of Matthews; 19 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three sons, three sisters, and two brothers.
Friends may call at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie after 4 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be in East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery, with military rites by Brown-Twitty Post.
