PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Lloyd P. Thieret, 89, of Perryville died Thursday, Feb. 21, 2008, at Independence Care Center.

He was born April 15, 1918, at Belgique, Mo., son of Anthun P. and Lula Hagan Thieret. He and Geraldine Van Dyne were married Feb. 4, 1944, at Independence, Kan.

Thieret was a farmer; he owned and operated Thieret Farms Inc. for 40 years. He was a World War II veteran, serving as a sergeant in the Air Force. Thieret was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, American Legion Post 133 and Disabled American Veterans.

Survivors include six sons, Lloyd Thieret Jr. of St. Louis, Larry Thieret, Donald Thieret, Ronald Thieret, Stephen Thieret, all of Perryville, Thomas Thieret of Farmington, Mo.; four daughters, Judy Lukefahr, Linda Blechle, both of Perryville, Donna Jones, Nancy Armstrong, both of Rolla, Mo.; a sister, Maretta Cattoor of Perryville; 13 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, a brother and a grandchild.

Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday at Miller Family Funeral Home in Perryville. Parish wake with Knights of Columbus is at 7 p.m., with American Legion service to follow. Visitation continues from 6:30 to 9:50 a.m. Tuesday; the Rosary will be recited at 9 a.m. at the funeral home.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Perryville, with the Rev. Milton Ryan officiating.

Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, with graveside military honors courtesy of American Legion Post 133.
