Lloyd M. Schlimme, 90, of Cape Girardeau passed away Friday, March 20, 2015, at the Missouri State Veterans Home.

He was born March 19, 1925, son of Louis and Emma Grebe Schlimme. He and Freida Cobb were married Sept. 21, 1946.

Lloyd was a member of Zion United Methodist Church near Gordonville.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, and was a member of the American Legion.

Lloyd worked 37 years at the former Marquette Cement Co. He dedicated his life to his family and enjoyed gardening.

He is survived by three sons, Michael and Kenneth Schlimme of Cape Girardeau and John (Connie) Schlimme of Raleigh, North Carolina; a daughter, Mary (Wes) Scaggs of Paducah, Kentucky; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Freida; a son, Roger Schlimme; three brothers; and four sisters.

Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at the funeral home, with the Rev. Joel Kidwell officiating. Burial will be in Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Zion United Methodist Church.
