MCALLEN, Texas -- Lloyd S. Olson, formerly of Illmo, died Friday, Jan. 3, 1997. He was 97 years old.
He was born Jan. 5, 1899, in Fort Dodge, Iowa, the son of Charles and Ida Adams Olson. He married Avilde Andresen, who survives him.
He worked until retirement as a railroad engineer for Southwestern Railway.
He is survived by his wife of McAllen, Texas; two sons, Gene Olson of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Lee Olson of Burfordville; one daughter, Joan Stout of Bay City, Mich.; two stepsons, Lloyd Cleveland of New Lennox, Ill., and Darrell Cleveland of Mokena, Ill.; two stepdaughters, Deloris Huttenhoff of Fort Myers, Fla., and Darlyne Hischier of Joliet, Ill.; seven grandchildren and 10 stepgrandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and 14 step great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son.
An interment and memorial service will be held in Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau. The date has not yet been set.
