Lloyd "Pete" Propst, 85, of 1551 Price Drive died Saturday, Sept. 9, 1995, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. He was born Oct. 16, 1909, in Cape Girardeau, son of Steven and Elizabeth Seabaugh Propst. He married Frieda Stovall on Dec. 5, 1927, in Cape Girardeau. She preceded him in death on Dec. 9, 1987...

Lloyd "Pete" Propst, 85, of 1551 Price Drive died Saturday, Sept. 9, 1995, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Oct. 16, 1909, in Cape Girardeau, son of Steven and Elizabeth Seabaugh Propst.

He married Frieda Stovall on Dec. 5, 1927, in Cape Girardeau. She preceded him in death on Dec. 9, 1987.

Survivors include a son, Billie Propst of McClure, Ill.; a daughter, Elizabeth "Betty" Lange of Webster Groves; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Two brothers and two sisters also preceded him in death.

Propst retired from the U.S. Postal Service in Cape Girardeau after more than 30 years of service. He also worked two years for MacDonald Concrete as a salesman and owned and operated Smitty's Tavern at Broadway and Sprigg for 15 years.

He was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene and the SEMO Booster Club.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. today at Ford & Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Chapel in Cape Girardeau. The Rev. William Burke will officiate, and burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park cemetery.
